Cara Thomas Hoover, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Thomas was born February 26, 1865 in Carrol County, Indiana. In March 1877 she moved to Halstead, Kansas with her parents. On August 19, 1909 she was married to William D. Hoover of Rialto, California,, where she lived until 1949. In 1942 her husband passed away. Mrs. Hoover entered Bethel Home in Newton on August 1, 1952.
Mrs. Hoover is survived by a stepson, Marion Hoover, of Rialto, California; three nieces, Mrs. Emery Biggerstaff of Salem, Oregon; Ruth Birch of Rialto, California; Mrs. Nellie Allen of Halstead; two nephews, Morris Birch of Summit, Oregon and Wilford Birch, Wichita.
Cara Thomas Hoover was a poet whose poems speak from heart to heart.
Memorial services were held at Kaufman Funeral Chapel on December 27 with Rev. Paul Merkel officiating. Interment was in the Halstead Cemetery.
