Reymond M. Reed, 101, died December 15, 2005 at Kingsland Hills Care Center, Kingsland, Texas. He was a resident of Pratt for 62 years, but moved to Texas in 1992 to be closer to his family and lived with his son, Clayton and his wife, Barbara in Trophy Club, Texas for several months and then moved to Round Mountain Texas in 1993 to live with his grandson, Rick Reed.
Reymond was born February 20, 1904 the son of Carson M. and Florence L. Reed in Burrton. He attended Burton schools and began learning the barber trade in November 1919 in Burrton.
He married Ruth El Hill, also of Burrton, on Decemer 17, 1923 and after living in Lyons and Pittsburg, they settled in Pratt. There he purchased a 50 percent interest in the Palace Barbaer Shop and Barbered there until he retired in December of 1969 after 50 years of barbering.
He was a member of First Christian Church, ratt. He was an avid sports fan and regular supportere of all the local sports teams in Pratt. He and his wife were enthusiastic fishers, making regular fishing trips to the Texas gulf coast each spring after their retirement.
Survivors: son, Clayton (Barbara), Trophy Club, Texas; grandsons, John Reed (April), Nashville, Tennessee; Rick Reed (Robin), Round Mountain Texas; Jim Reed (Jan), Austin, Texas; two brothers in-law from Wichita and Burrton and sister-in-law from Wichita.
Services will be December 28 at First Christian Church in Burrton. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery, alongside his wife, Ruth.
