Keith A. Penner, 81, owner operator of Penner's Auto Service, died Tuesday, December 12, 2012 at Newton Medical Center iin Newton. He was born April 7, 1931 at Newton to Marcus and Adina Boese Penner. He was a member, elder and deacon of Burrton Christian Church, Burrton.
He also served his community in various capacities. He served as a Burrton City councilman and mayor, Burrton fire and EMS volunteer and was a former President of the Burrton Lions Club, Burrton Chamber of Commerce and Burrton Pride Committee and was a substitute rural mail carrier.
On August 20, 1950 he married Jacka L. Stephenson at Burrton. She survives. Other survivors: sons, Rickie (Pam) Penner, Peck, Kansas; Rockey (Sue) Penner, Burrton; daughters, Becky (Wade) Thornton, Greenville, Michigan; Ginger (Randy) Caffery, Mt. Hope; Lori (Duane) McCaskill, Mt. Hope; brothers, Paul, (Waunita) Penner, McPherson; Maurice (Sharon) Penner, Acampo, California; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded iin death by an infant sister.
Funeral was Friday, December 114 at Burrton Christian Church with Rev. Charles Kerr officiating. Burial w as in Burrton Cemetery.
