Ruth Ileen Woolery Overstreet died at Asbury Park on December 30., 2012. She was born November 19, 1918 in Galeburg. She was the third of six children born to Ira and Hazel Willis Woolery. Ileen lived in Newton most of her life, graduating from Newton High School in 1937. and working for Woolworths before becoming a homemaker.
She married James C. Overstreet on November 19. 1939. They had four children. Jim died November 29. 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Iris Carol; parents; sister, Ethel Woolery; and brother, Lorin (Baldy) Woolery.
Ileen is survived by her daughter Lorinda Overstreet Schreiber and husband, Jack of Newton; son, Michael Overstreet and wife, Jody of Show Low, Arizona; daughter, Peggy Overstreet Sharer of Erlanger, Kentudky: brothers, Bill and wife, Jan Woolery and Jack and wife, Ruth Woolery of Wichita; sister-in-law, Irene Woolery of Wchita; five grandchildren; two great granddaughters.
Services will be January 76 at Peterson Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Nancy Crowl officiating.
