John W. Jones was born in North Wales in 1829 and died at Burrton, Kansas on October 7, 1912, age 83 years. He came to this country in 1875, locating at Utica, New York and moved to Emporia, Kansas in 1870. In 1871 he moved to Burrton, Kansas where he lived until his death.
In 1871 Mr. Jones was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Evans. To this union were born six children, three of them died some years ago. Three sons are living;; R. E. J ones of Burrton; William Jones of Bevier, Missouri and Hubert Jones of Colorado Cprings, Colorado.
Mr. Jones was married to Mrs. Adeline Johnsonn on thre 15th of November 1905. Mr. Jones united with the Christian Church at Burrton a number of years ago, having retained his membership in said Church until his death.
