Betty Sue Sims, 93, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born December 19, 1919 in Arkansas City. Her parents were Mr. & Mrs. Lewis A. Sturtz of Arkansas City. She grew up and attended public schools in Arkansas City. She was married to Lawrence E. "Curly" Sims who preceded her in death in October of 1999. During their married lives, they lived in Blackwell, Oklahoma, Wichita and Arkansas City. They lived the latter part of their lives in Newton.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and later was a member of the First Church of God in Newton until she moved to Aldersgatee Village in Topeka in October 2006. She had earlier worked in the food service section of the Newton School system.
Survivors: Larry (Joyce), Topeka; Richard (Tammy), Winfield; Randy (Sherry) Bixby, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren..
Services will be January 17 at First Church of God in Newton. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Gardens of Memory Cemetery in rural Newtonl.
