Gary Wayne Klassen, 63, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. He was born July 30, 1949 to Pete and Lorena Heibert Klassen in Newton. He married Caroline Graber on July 10, 1970. They were married for 43 years.
He was a graduate of Remington High and received his Bachelor's Degree in Music from Tabor College. He was an owner/operator in the transportation industry until his health failed. He was a former music instructor for Halstead High School and Berean Academy. He also coached girl's gasketball for Berean Academy.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Patrick, Timothy and Nathan (Jessica) Klassen; parents, Pete and Lorena Klassen; five brothers, Charles, Rodney, Warren, Russell and Roger; and one granddaughter, Kodi Rose. He was loved and will be missed by a large extended family.
Memorial services will be at Grace Community Church of Newton. A graveside service will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory prior to the service.
Gary Struggled with cancer for the past six months until the time of his death. The family is deeply appreciative of the care and kindness shown to them by Harry Hynnes Memorial Hospice.
