Larry E. Church, 50, died Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Newton Medical Center. He was born April 18, 1962 in Newton to Orville and Nona Ball Church. He was a 1980 graduate of Newton High School. On October 30, 1982, he married Debbie Young in Halstead and she survives of the home.
He worked as an assembler for AGCO in Hesston for nearly 24 years. Larry served several turns as a union steward for the United Steel Workers. Larry was a member of the Newton Saddle Club and served on the board of directors. He was also a volunteer for 4-H and a shooting sports instructor and was on the Harvey County Fair Board. Larry enjoyed raising and caring for horses with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie of the home; son, Ray and girlfriend, Erika Manring of Newton; brothers, Gary and Denise Church of Newton; Bobby and Ruth Church of Canton; parents-in-law, Clyde and June Young of Halstead;
A celebration of Larry's life was Monday January 21, 2013 at the Harvey County West Park Community. Graveside committal service was Tuesday January 22 at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
