James R. Lohrenz, 80, farmer and stockman died Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence in Burrton. He was born March 14, 1932 at Newton to John H. and Elizabeth Neufeld Lohrenz.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead; former Garden Township Board member and grader operator; former Harvey County Park Board member and served on other civic and church boards and did 1W service in Pueblo, Colorado and Topeeka.
He married Rachel Ensz at Beatruce, Nebraska on January 8, 1960. She survives. Other survivors: sons; Phil (Lorene) Lohrenz and Dwight (Sharenne) Lohrenz and a grandson, Corey Lohrenz, all of rural Burrton.
Services will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at the First Mennonite church in Halstead with pastor Randy Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
