Maureen L. Wedel, 76, former Halstead Hospital and Hertzler Clinic R.N. died Tuesday, January
29, 2013 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming.
She was born November 12, 1936 at Las Animas, Colorado to Maurice P. and Bernice E. Boyd Kenworthy.
She wa a 1954 graduate of Bent County High School and a 1957 graduate of Halstead Hospital
School of Nursing. She was a former Halstead resident since 1954, moving to Laramie in 2006.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Ruth ilson American Legion Post 231 Auxliary, both of
Halstead and V.F.W. Post 2221 Auxiliary, Laramie.
On September 3, 1957 she married Vernon Dale Wedel at Las Animas, Colorado. He passed away November
30, 2006.
Surviors: sons, Dale Wedel, Laramie, Wyoming; Maurice Wedel, Medicine Lodge; 2 grandsons; brother, Louis M. "Mel" Kenworthy, Halstead; step-mother, Evaline Kenworthy, Las Animas, Colorado. sister-in-law, Lois (Lynn) Medley,
Fountain Hills, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bernice Wedel.
Services were held February 6 at First United Methodist Church, Halstead with burial in the Halstead
Cemetery.
