Deloise Davis, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 2, 20113 at Asbury Park in Newton. She was born January 10, 1926 in Bucklin to William and Edith Scarbrough Ward. She graduated from Great Bend High School. In 1950 she married Victor "Vic" Davis of Newton, where they settled to raise a family.
After many years as a florist, DeLoise became the bookkeeper at Wenger Oil Co. in Newton where she retired as office manager in 1988.
Among the many things she enjoyed was music. Here husband Vic, was a jazz musician and they were
regulars at the local Elks Lodge and VFW on weekends where he performed with his combo. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Martinez of North Newton and Victoria Davis of Berkley, California; one son, Scott Davis of Corvallis, Oregon; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grand children.
Memorial services will be Feb. 6, 2013 at Brroadway Colonial Funeral |Home with Inurnment in Restlawn Gardens
of Memory.
