J. Keith Sommers, 71, passed away at his residence April 8, 2013.
He was born March 2, 1942, at Newton, the son of Si and Wilma (Mead) Sommers. He was a farmer and stockman. On May 1, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carlene A. Duvanel.
He is lovingly survived by his children: Jim and wife Kristi Sommers of Potwin; Tom and wife Deandra Sommers of Potwin; and Ginger and husband Jeff Bastin of Derby; his mother: Wilma Sommers of Potwin; his brothers: Darrell and wife Vicki Sommers of Potwin; and Curt and wife Ruthie Sommers of Towanda; his six grandchildren: Weston, Cole, Taylor, Jarrett, Jacob and Kara Sommers; and dear friend: Jane Cauthorn of Marion. He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
Visitation with family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Potwin Christian Church. Interment will be in the Potwin Cemetery. Memorial funds have been established for Potwin Christian Church or Remington USD 206, in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S. Main, Whitewater, KS 67154.
