The Newton Kansan

   Frank S. Jones, 84, died Monday, April 29 at his Newton residence.

   He was born April 5, 1929 in Turon to Earl W. and Aldine Sillin Jones.  On March 31, 1951 he married Norma "Mickey" Daugherty and she survives of the home.

    He was a member of First Christian Church, Newton and a graduate at Pratt High School.  He served his country in the

U.S. Army on the front lines in the Korean War and also in Japan.

   Frank and his wife moved to Newton in 1954 from Nebraska and began working at Maxwell's Flowers.

He and his wife eventually became owners of the flower shop.  They sold the shop in 1995 upon Frank's

retirement.  He was a member of the Newton VFW and American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting and

trapshooting.

   He greatly enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends, especially his 8 grandchildren.

   Survivors: wife, Mickey of the home; two sons, Rick and wife Terri Jones of Hutchinson and Rod and wife, Laurie Jones of Hutchinson and 8 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maxine Thoman.

   Services will be followed by U/

U.S. Army funeral honors at First Christian Church in Newton.  Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
