Bingamon, Lloyd

The Newton Kansan

Lloyd Bingamon, 56, died on April 20., 2013 in his home in Newton,  He was born January 6, 1957 in Ulysses, to William and Dorothy Bingamon

He was a former employee of AGCO and Prestressed Concrete.  In 1997, Lloyd completed the year long machinist program at Hutchinson Community College, his proudest occupational accomplishment.  He

was a hard worker with a strong work ethic who overcame challenging circumstances to

better his life.  His failing health forced him into early retirement in 2010.

He enjoyed fishing and then frying up his catch for his friends; exploring the back roads

and small prairie towns of Kansas; and riding his bike around town.  An avid sports fan,

he rooted for his beloved Kansas City Chiefs (no matter what) and loved to watch televised open

tennis tournaments.

A Kansas boy through and througvh, he was often glued to the Weather Channel and envisioned spending his golden years as a story "storm chaser".

He is survived by his brother, Gary Bingamon and wife Elaine of Valley Center; stepbrothers, Steve and David Smith of Wichita; and a wide circle of close friends, many of whom considered him part of their family.  He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched with his selfless kindness , gentle spirit and easygoing manner.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his birth father, William Bingamon; stepfather, Arthur Smith and mother Dprptju

Smith.

A private committal service will be scheduled at a later date.
