Karen K. Swarts,74, of Wichita, retired Boeing Wichita Finance employee, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born May 20. 1938 in Newton to Loren and Dorothy Moore Swarts, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Newton High School as a member of the class of 1956. She was an avid sports enthusiast, as a participant coach and spectator.
Survivors include Reginald Chaney, Rhonda Snyder, Rodney Chaney, Valerie Swarts, Roger Swarts and other cousins.
Funeral services will be at Community of Christ Church, 1650 S. Water in Wichita March 26, 2013.
The family will receive friends also at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton on March 27, 2013. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, March 28 at 12:30 p.m. at the Walton Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Newton High School Girls Athletics, Wichita State Women's Athletics and Harry
Hynes Memorial Hospice.
