Malinda Guhr, 85, passed away March 25, 2013 at Newton Presbyterian Manor. She was born April 18, 1927 near Meno, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Eva Koehn Eck, the 6th child of eight sisters and two brothers.
On December 27, 1949 she married Arnold Guhr at First Mennonite Church in Newton. She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Arnold Guhr; sisters, Frieda Eck, Bertha Jantz,
Margaret Miller, Obera Janzen, Lillian Gunnels, Eva Lena Suderman and brother, Detrick Eck.
Survivors include: daughters, Marilyn (Tom) Loff, Chandler, Arizona; Janet (Jim) Schrag, Moundridge,
Arlene (Gene) Gordon, Valley Center; 6 grandchildren; sister, Marie Matz; brother, Paul Eck; brother-
in-law, Arlo Janzen.
Memorial service will be at Koerner Heights Mennonite Brethren Church Newton followed by burial
in Restlawn Gardens of Memory on March 26.
