Edna Mae Baumann Stites, 97, died May 10, 2013 in Wichita. She was born the daughter of Jacob Herman Baumann
and Augusta Brandenberger Baumann at the Halstead Hospital. Her father was a farmer in Harvey
County and she grew up in the Halstead area. She lived most of her adult life in Wichita but always
wanted to return to Halstead.
Her mother died in childbirth when she gave birth to her 4th daughter and Edna and her sister, Marguerite
lived with their father until they married. Two aunts adopted the other two daughters and raised them.
Edna Mae was cremated and will be buried in the Halstead Cemetery. There will be no formal service.
