Charles R. Stamback, 84, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead.
He was born July 24, 1928 in Bentley to Milford and Janice McMurry Stamback. On June 11, 1948 he married Mabel
Thomas and she preceded him in death.
He was a retired over the road truck driver, accumulating over 3.5 million miles as a professional driver without an accident. Charles was known for independence, love of his family, and especially his love of homemade ice cream. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and traveling, especially his trips to Greece and Egypt. He enjoyed playing bridge and pitch and spending time with his friends at the Sedgwick Senior Center.
He is surived by sons: Tom (Lynda) of Halstead; Roger (Wendi) of Wichita; daughters, Barbara
Bustamante of St. John and Cheryl Devine of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Marvin Stamback of
ElCajon, California and sister, Joyce Foinseca of Sedgwick; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel, parents and sister, Wilda Cornelius.
Graveside service was March 20 at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick.
