Audrey Marie Howard McCain Collins, 94, died April 14, at her home in Hutchinson, with both her sons present.
She was born November 17, 1918 in Ness County. She was a graduate of Ness City Schools. She was a published author and known for her poetry. On January 13, 1938 she married Harvey H. McCain at Ness City. He died May 17, 1961. She married Ray Collins on October 28, 1962 at Burrton. He died March 21, 1993.
She is survived by her two sons, Howard McCain and Kay, Burrton and Kim McCain and Sherry, Seibert, Colorado,
her brother, Ben Howard, Merced, California; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great-grerat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons; three sisters; a brother and her parents. She was also preceded by her loving companion, Monte Copenhaver.
Funeral services will be Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson. Burial will follow at Burrton City Cemetery.
