Elda Schmidt Yoder passed away May 31, 2013. She was born August 26, 1926 at
Inman, Kansas. She married Lawrence Yoder in 1950.
Her children include Duane and Jill of Harrisonburg, Virginia; Doug and Denise of Lawrence; Sam and Sylvia of Newton,
Karen and Brent Lehman, Newton: 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Elizabeth Schmidt; siblings; Victor,
Elmer, Rosalie Schmidt and Lila Willems. She is survived by her husband of the home; two brothers, Nicholas and Robert; three sisters, Helen Ediger, Irene Dunn and Jean Whittle.
Elda worked as a nurse at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton an then as a school nurse for the Newton Public Schools
A memorial service will be at Bethel Collee Mennonite Church at 4 p.m. on June 16. According to her wishes, her body was donated to LifeLegacy Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that does anatomical research. Her cremains will be interred at Eastlawn Cemetery at a later date.
