May, Thomas Walton

The Newton Evening Kansan-Republican


Thomas Walton May, 74 year old retired carpenter and resident of Newton for 11 years, passed away at the home of his son, W. L. May of 420 Avenue C., Trousdale addition, Tuesday night at 11 o'clock, following an illness of only a few days.  Mr. May had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Chester Brainard of 821 West Fifth, but went to the home of his son a few days ago for a visit, being stricken with the fatal illness a few hours after arrival there.

Mr. May is survived by the following children:  Mrs. J. A. Thomas of 121 Southwest Third; Mrs. Chester Brainard, Mrs. C. M. Reed, 416 East Seventh, W. L. May, Trousdale addition, all of this city; George of Boston, Mass., and Chris of Gray Ridge, Mo.  His wife died here 11 years ago.

Mr. May was taken to the Sprinker Mortuary from which place the funeral arrangements will be announced thru the Kansan on Thursday.
