Varena K. Huebert, 77, of Sedgwick, died Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
She was born on May 31, 1936 in Alexander, the daughter of Newton O. and Lillian Tripp Ream. The family moved to Newton when Vrena was an infant. As a chilld she enjoyed spending a lot of time with her grandparents. She graduated from Newton High School.
Varens married John O. Huebert on May 31, 1954 at the First Christian Church in Newton. They had just celebrated 45 years of marriage. She was a lonngtime member of the Sedgwick Christian Church, where she was very active, especially with the children's programs. She had been a part of the Vacation Bible School program for 70 years. For several years, she had been a pre-school teacher for the Little Hands Pre-School.
Survivors: husband, John; two sons, Jeff and wife Susan and Rodneyy and wife Alice; one daughter, Janell Ferguson, all of rural Sedgwick. 13 grandschildren; 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gary and Ronald Ream.
Funeral services will be June 11 at Sedgwick Christian Church. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick. Memorials to Sedgwick Christian Church.
