Obituary

   Thomas Thomas, 92, one of the oldest citizens both in years and in length of residency, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sue R. T. Birch, four miles northeast of Halstead.  He was born in Monroe County, Virginia in 1821, moved to Carroll County, Indiana.  He married Margaret C. Johnson in 1843.  Eight years later, his beloved wife and two small children died in a prevalent epidemic in four days time. 

   In 1853 he married Nancy Gillum.  He served in the church at Babble Ground Indiana for 12 years.  He came to Halstead in 1877. 

   Survivors: brother and two daughters.  He was a Methodist.
