Ralph LeRoy Ewy, Sr., 94, retired farmer and rancher died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, Halstead.
He was born December 9, 1918 in Noble County near Perry, Oklahoma to John Peter and Minnie Kathryn Brugacher Ewy.
When Ralph was four years old, his family moved to Halstead, where he spent the rest of his life. On March 5, 1939 he married Doris Mueller in the First Mennonite Church in Halstead.
Survivors: wife of 74 years, Doris, Halstead; daughter; Carol (Tom) Rose, Halstead; sons Ralph LeRoy, Jr., Halstead; Dr. Kenneth (Jane Ann) Ewy, Salina;; daughters-in-law; Cynthis Ewy, Valley Centere; Karen Ewy, Boise, Idaho; sister, Betty Buller, Halstead; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons, Gerald and Douglas Ewy; grandson, Ralph Edward; brother, John Edward and sisters, Mary Vogt, Dorothy Janzen and Carolyn Hultberg.
Funeral services were held June 3 at First Mannonite Church. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
