Obituary

   Jay F. Jewett of Pueblo, Colorado, father of Harry Jewett, ,Halstead, was born in Wisconsin in 1850.  He was a Blacksmith.  He married Lucy Lamphier in 1875  She died in 1886. He was a blacksmith.  They had one chid,, Harry Jewett.  He later married Mrs. Alice Morris Knox.

   During his two terms of mayor of Halstead, it was through his efforts that title was secured to what is now the Riverside Park.  Other survivors: one brother, 3 sisters in Wisconsin and a sister, Mrs. George Dalton.  Local service was at the  home of his son..
