Obituary

   William Dunkelberger passed away June 18, 1913 at his home seven and a half miles west of Newton of uremia, after a very brief illness. 

  Though 79 years of age, he ws very active and was aboout his usual duties on the farm this week.  Monday, he attended the funeral of Mr. Menno Hege in Halstead and Tuesday, he worked cutting hedge sprouts.  That evening he felt so ill, that a physician was summoned.  He continued to grow worse and the end came early this morninng.  His wife died several years ago and he is survived by a family of fourteen children; Jerry; Jacob; Edward and Francis of Newton; William of Hesston; Samuel whose home is west of Newton; John; Alfred and Gustav who are at home; Mary and Lizzie of Chicago; Clara of Hutchinson; Mrs. Chaliance who resides near Newton and Nora who is the home keeper.

   The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from Zion Church and interment was made in the Halstead Cemetery.
