Alonzo Lynde, Harvey County pioneer, age 95 died near Halstead. He was born in Massachusetts in 1816. In his early life, he followed the avocation of a fisherman on the Great Lakes.
He married Sarah Riley and came to Lakin township in 1871. Two sons survive, William A. of Oregon and Charles Lyde of Halstead.
