Chanute - Patricia Janet Parsons "Pat" Ream, 77, of Chanute, previously of Wichita, passed away Friday, August 2, 20131 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Pat was born September 4, 1935 in Holyrood, the daughter of Percy Russell Parsons and Wilma Ernestine Dillman Parsons and grew up in Halstead, Kansas.
Survivors: husband of 58 years, Larry Dean Arnold Ream, Chanute, previously of Wichita and Turon; two sons, Michael Dale Ream and wife Wini of Sulphur Springs and Steven Patrick Ream of Wichita; three granddaughters; two great grandchildren and a brother, Retired U.S. Army Colonel Russell Levi Parsons of Acwroth, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Percy Jack ":Jack" Parsons of Perryton, Texas and Robert Dale "Bob" Parsons of Victoria, Texas.
Pat was a proud conservative Rep[ublican and worked for the Republican congressional campaign of Garner Shrivwer, then the senatorial campaign of Bob Dole, most recently in support of Congressman Todd Tiahart. Trained as a nurse in the early 1950s at the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead, Pat was later employed in office administration at Cessna and Lear Jet, before working many years for the Catholic Diocese of Wichita Chancery Office. She also held a real estate license. She was extremely proud of her service and research with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) haviing served in a variety of local chapter and Kansas state offices.
Pat was a member of the Catholic Faith and a charter member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita. Interment at Halstead Cemetery.
