Lorenzo Dow (Red) Hartley Jr. passed away Tuesday, July 30., 2013 after an extended illness and fighting the "Big Fight" at the age of 78. He was born August 21, 1934. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy: Dow and Quida Hartley (Parents); brother, Robert and sisters Billie and Helen Faye.
He is survived by brothers, Tim (Wanda) and James (Paula); sons, DJ (Kathy); Chris and Rusty (Unetta) and daughter Gwen Federspiel (Joe).
He cherished his grandsons, Travis and Joey Federspiel, Jesse Hartley; granddaughter, Kristi Hartley; and great grandsons, Riley James (RJ) and Coby Dow (CD) Federspiel.
Dad was stern but fair, tough but not mean, honest and trustworthy and a man of his word. He bestowed these traits upon his children and we hope to be able to do othe same for ours.
Services August 3 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
