Jackson Brooks

   Jackson Brooks, esteemed pioneer resident, dies at his home south of Sedgwick.  The was born in Wayne County, Indiana in 1833.  He was 80 years of age.  He married Sarah J. Charman iin 1856.  They had 3 children, Josephine Potter, Vorhis Brooks and Carrie Dale Brooks who died at age 15. 

    The family came to Kansas in 1876.  They belonged to the  Congregational Church.

   Services were at the family home on Sunday morning.  Interment was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
