Luna, Reda Halcomb

The Newton Kansan

   Reda Luna, 85, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at her Valley Center home.  She was born November 28, 1927 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to Phillip and Laura Frazier Halcomb.  She married Martin Luna on November 15, 1947 and he survives of the home.
   Reda was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton and was a loving homemaker, mother, wife and grandma.  She had a special way of making others feel loved and special and will be greatly missed.

   Survivors: husband, Martin, of the home; sons, Ed Luna and Rosanne, Wichita ; Vincent Luna and Stacey of Topeka; daughters, Anita and Rex Victory; Amy Luna; Loretta Luna and Elizabeth Luna, all of Valley Center; two sisters, Ruby Slaughter and Nancy Brim, both of Wichita; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Miguel Luna; two sisters, Rudell Morgan and Gaynell Vaught.

   Funeral mass will be Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Thursday at 6 p.m.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick.
