Obituary

   Ransom H. Francis died at his home near Sedgwick.   He was born in Ohio in 1845, going to  Indiana as a child.  He served in Co. E, 22th, Indiana Calvary from 1863 until the end of the Civil War.  He was honorably discharged at Vicksburg. 

   He married Martha Hemminger in 1868..  Ten children were born to this union, seven who survive him.  He came to Kansas in the early 70's to Washington County.  He came to Harvey county in 1900.  He belonged to the Church of God.

  Survivors: wife, seven children, fifteen grandchildren; 2 sisters, 1 brother.
