Esther C. Ream, 85, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Asbury Park in Newton. She was born September 27, 1928 in Newton to Eli and Nancy Branson Butts. She married Gaylord "Jack" Ream in Wellsville on February 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1992.
Esther was a member of First Christian Church in Newton and a retired hostess and cashier for the former Lee and Ida's restaurant and also the Newton Red Coach Hotel. Esther enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.
Survivors: sons; Steve (Sara) Ream of Wichita and Don (Joann) Ream, Cedar Hill, Texas; daughters, Marilyn (Chuck) Shepherd of Newton and Karen Ream and her partner, Tim Wolfe, also of Newton; sister, Edna Ousler of Peabody; 12
grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and four sisters.
Graveside Service will be Monday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Memorials are suggested to Make a Wish Foundation.
