Tempe, Arizona: Talitha Mae Rundell Bachman, 96, passed away October 20, 2013 in Tempe, Arizona. She was born June 26, 1917 in Darlow to Bertha Mae Hornbakeer Rundell and Clarence Alonza Rundell. She graduated from Halstead Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. On February 26,1939. She married Orville Weber Bachman in Halstead.
Talitha and Orville had four children: Ronald Gene (1939); Neil Allen (1944); Orville Lynn (1950-1952; and Cynthia Sue (1953). They made their home in Halstead and Wichita and Scottsdale, Mesa, Sun Lakes and Tempe, Arizona.
Talitha practiced as a Registered Nurse with time away to manage a growing family, until her retirement in 1982. She worked as a private duty nurse, in a psychiatric hospital and at the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead. In 1966, the Bachman's moved to Arizona. Talitha retired from nursing after 15 years at the Arizona Children's Hospital. The last five years she was the Clinic Director of Crippled Children's Services, Arizona Chidren's Hospital.
Talitha had many hobbies and excelled at paiintiing, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed quiltiing, and made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. She learned to make candy under the guidance of her husband, "Bachie" and became expert at dipping chocolates.
She was a very loving and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and nurse. She was known wherever she lived for her thoughtfulness and condieratioon for other. Talitha enjoyed her family and was the happiest in a crowd of her relative, reminiscing and telling the old stories once again.
Survivors: Son, Ron Bachman (Polly) of Albuquerque, N.M.; Neil Bachman (Jill), Hereford, Arizona and Cynthia Bachnan Susong (William) of Gilbert, Arizona; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Linda) Rundell, San
Diego, California.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Orville W. Bachman; son, Orville Lynn Bachman; siblings Walter Rundell, Elsie Rundell Rose; Charlie Rundell; Nadine Rundell Bainum; Verle Rundell; Lawrence Rundell; Alton Rundell; Frances Rundell Reigle and Eldon Rundell.
A graveside Burial will at at the Halstead Cemetery, Friday, November 1 at 11 a.m.. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 25, at Friendship Village. Tempe, Arizona.
