Marty Walker, 60, Newton, succumbed to the West Nile virus on October 8, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. An Avid Oakland Raider fan, music lover and devoted Christian, he was known to his friends as that big ol' teddy bear who spent countles hours assisting and contributing to various charitable causes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Doris Walker; brothers, Terry,, Kelly and Randy; and sister, Caryn.
Survivors; daughter, Tammy Merryfield, Mill Creek, Washington; brothers, Monty, Newton and Wade Punya, Augusta and sister, Rhonda (Jose) Chavez, Newton.
A memorial service will be November 16 at Peoples Bible Baptist Church in Newton.
