Ima B. Hatfield
Ima B. Hatfield, 82, 307 W. 24th St.,
in North Newton, retired EEG technician at Hertzler Clinic in
Halstead, died Wednesday (April 8, 1998) at Via Christi Regional
Medical Center, St. Francis Campus.
She was born Aug. 10, 1915, in Hardeman
County, Texas, to Eddie F. and Maude Carpenter Lawson. She married
Cecil Foster Nov. 19, 1930, in Wichita. He preceded her in death July
18, 1965. She married William Gale Hatfield June 29, 1969, in
Parsons. He also preceded her in death July 29, 1979.
She was a member of the AARP, United
Methodist Church in Grove, Okla., and also a member of the Priscilla
Circle of First United Methodist Church in Newton. She was a former
volunteer of Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
Survivors include: three daughters,
Glenna Becker of Jay, Okla., Becky Hege of Newton and Edwina "Eddy"
Beard of Wichita; one step-son, Rev. Terry Hatfield of Panora, Iowa;
two step-daughters, Dolores Lowmaster and Beverly Maxwell, both of
Independence; two sisters, Cecelia Wise of Wenatchee, Wash., and
Aline Weins of Newton; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 21
step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She
also was preceded in death by one daughter, Joy Craig; one sister,
Bertha Goddard; and two step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m.
Monday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton with the Rev. Terry Hatfield
of Panora, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., both Friday
and Saturday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
the Kidney Transplant, related costs for Joni Ewert in care of
Midland National Bank in Newton.
