Jerry "Dokey" Short of Salina passed away December 3, 2013 at Salina Regional Health Center. He was born November 14, 1944 in Hutchinson to Lewis M. and Rachael Jean Short. He was raised in Burrton.and graduated from Burrton High School in 1962. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and was stationed in Alaska. February 1, 1969 he married Barbara O'Grady in Halstead. Jerry was employed by Buick/General Motors for 38 hears. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his 8 grandchildren, genealogy and golfing. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Survivors: wife, Barbara of Bennington; daughters, Cindy (Steve) Fowler of Littleton, Colorado' Kristy Short of Fountain Hills, Arizona and Petey (Dan) Eshelman of Salina; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Allen Short, Hutchinson; Phil (Annie) Short of Burrton. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, Larry Short and sister, Lu Jean Socha.
Memorial services will be December 6 at Ryan Mortuary. Inurnment was December 7 at Burrton Kansas Cemetery.
