Maxine M. Ropp, 93, former Embers Restaurant waitress,, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation. She was born December 3, 1920 at rural Newton, to James D. and Inez Bell Elder Hall. In October of 1970 whe married John E Ropp at Emporia. He preceded her in death August 25, 1992.
Survivors: step-sons; Jack (Sheri) Ropp, Salina; Dan (Marilyn) Ropp, Hutchinson; Perry Ropp, San Jose, California;; Ken (Barbara) Ropp, Little Rock, Arkansas; step-daughters, Patty (Takashi) Makiyama, Chandler, Arizona; Peggy Ropp, Kansas City; 11 step-grandchildren and 9 step great-grndchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Gattes, brothers; Verlin, Arthur and Gene Hall; sisters, Fern Lingnau; Edith Harper; LaVera Stineman; Bob Stineman; Ruth Van Horn and Millie Hall.
A memorial service was held December 24, 2013 at Kaufman Funeral Home.
