Obituary - Kenneth K. Haury
Kenneth K. Haury, 89, 1200 E. Seventh, died Saturday (Oct. 17, 1998) at Newton Prebyterian Manor.
He was born Aug. 16, 1909, in Newton to Dr. Arthur O. and Hermina (Kraft) Haury.
He was a member and past president of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Elks Club, past director of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Prairie View Inc. past member serving in various capacities of Rotary International. McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation.
He was a 1926 graduate of Newton High School and the University of Kansas in1931. He lived most of his adult life in McPherson and was the co-founder of two accounting firms, whose successors were Swindoll, Jantzen, Hawk and Loyd, LLC, CPAs in McPherson and Steely and Schimming, LLC, CPAs in Newton.
Survivors include: two sisters-in-law, Ada Mae Haury and Evelyn Haury, both of Newton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Walter S. Haury and Robert A. Haury.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Anderson from First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with Newton Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund in care of the funeral home.
