Bill D Meacham

Bill Meacham, 79, died Jan. 25, 2014 at his home in Burrton. He was born May 12, 1934 in Sedan, KS, the son of Leola Meacham.

He was a resident of Burrton since 1970 and had worked for Superior Boiler Works for 38 years as an electrician. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the NRA and was an avid fisherman.

On Dec. 19, 1963 he married Ellen Jones in Sedan, she died Sept. 16, 2002. Other survivors include his children, Jim (Laurie) Wright, Cimarron, KS, Barbara Wright, Burrton, KS, Mike (Jill) Meacham, Burrton, KS, Patty (Nolen) Critchfield, Moundridge, KS, Skeeter (Joy) Snell, Hutchison, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Snell, a son, Eddie Wright and a sister, Wilma Meacham.

Graveside service will be 1:00pm, Sat. Feb. 1 at the Burrton City Cemetery, Burrton, KS. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 9:00pm Thursday and Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gideon’s International in care of the funeral home.
