Roberta C. 'Bobby' Seger

Roberta C. "Bobby" Seger, 65, 511 W. Seventh, homemaker, died Wednesday (April 29, 1998) at her residence.

She was born May 1, 1932, in Newton to Arthur Crandall and Gladys (Morrison) Crandall. She married Morris A. Seger on Sept. 14, 1949, in Newton. He survives of Newton.

She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Newton and North Newton Planning and Zoning Commission, Citizen Utility Rate Payers State Board which was appointed by Gov. Joan Finney, Eagles Auxiliary No. 2516, Democratic Federation and Kansas State Democrats. She was a delegate to two Democratic National Conventions from 1988 to 1996.

She was a 1950 graduate of Newton High School and was a lifetime Newton resident.

Other survivors include: three sons, Eddy Seger of Clayton, Del., James Seger and Steve Seger, both of Newton; one sister, Marjorie Paulson of Hesston; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Donna "Tony" Nicodemus.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Grove officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with the Central Homecare and Hospice or Salem United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
