Willis H. Riesen
CHICAGO -- Willis H. Riesen, 73, died
April 27, 1998, in Chicago.
He was born July 8,1924, in Newton to
Adolf and Justina (Hiebert) Riesen. He married Dorothy Snowden in
1992. She preceded him in death in 1993.
He was a 1945 graduate of Bethel
College. In 1949 he received his doctorate in biochemistry from
Wisconsin University. He was instructor at Berkeley California
University from 1949 to 1953 and assistant professor at Northwestern
University Medical School from 1953 to 1956. He worked as a research
chemist, and from 1974 to 1980 he became vice president of Illinois
College of Podiatry Medicine in Chicago. He became a nutritional
consultant for Sherwyn's Health Food Shop Inc. in Chicago from 1989
to 1998.
Survivors include one sister, Lois Jean
(Riesen) Andreas of North Newton.
