Zella M. Grace
Zella M. Grace, 86, 620 E. Seventh,
homemaker, died Thursday (May 21, 1998) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 6, 1911, in Joplin,
Mo., to Robert R. anD Ida M. (Hazel) Marshall. She married Edwin W.
Grace in Joplin, Mo. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1980.
She was a member of the First Christian
Church in Newton, Tuckabatchee Sunday School class, Christian Women's
Fellowship, Martha Group and Diaconate Emeritus, all of the church.
She was past president of the Social Order of the Beauceant, guardian
and grand officer of the International Order of Jobs Daughters and 50
year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a member
of the Progressive Women's Club and former member of the Optomist
Club, all of Newton.
Survivors include: two daughters,
Carole A. Moore of Newton and Karen S. Eby of Concordia; one sister,
Dora A. Weston of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Robert R. Marshall of
Joplin, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She also
was preceded in death by one son, Richard C. Grace; and one sister,
Marcella Raymond.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
MyCherie Zimmerman from First Christian Church in Newton officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home.
