Bryson G. McClymonds
NOWATA, Okla. -- Bryson G. McClymonds,
77, died Sunday (May 24, 1998) at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa,
Okla.
He was born Aug. 9, 1920, in Walton to
Dr. R.C. McClymonds and Beulah B. (Gilchrist) McClymonds. He married
Margaret M. McGraw on Oct. 12, 1946, in Newton. She preceded him in
death Oct. 20, 1991.
He grew up in Walton and was a 1938
graduate of Walton High School. He attended Wichita State University
and later graduated from St. Louis College of Mortuary Science. He
began working at Broadway Mortuary in Wichita and later worked for
Quiring Mortuary in McPherson. He worked for Beech Aircraft in
Wichita and then re-entered funeral service when he purchased Mulvane
Furniture and Mortuary in Mulvane in 1952. In May 1960, he purchased
Benjamin Funeral Service in Nowata, Okla.
He served in the Air Force during World
War II and was a 32 degree Mason. He also was active in the Nowata
Rotary Club before retirement. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include: one son, John R.
McClymonds of Atlanta; two daughters, Mary M. Thompson of McKinney,
Texas, and Carol A. McClymonds of Dallas; one brother, S.E.
McClymonds of Wichita; one sister, Vance Roberts of Lawrence; and
five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert
C. McClymonds, and one sister, Margaret C. McKnight.
Funeral services were today at Benjamin
Funeral Chapel in Nowata, Okla. Graveside services will be at noon
Wednesday at Walton Cemetery in Walton with Ben Killion officiating.

Diabetes Foundation in care of Benjamin Funeral Service, 114 West
Cherokee, Nowata, OK 74048.
