Lucille M. Saunders
Lucille M. Saunders, 71, 320 Lakeshore
Drive, retired from the dietary department at Newton Medical Center,
died Wednesday (May 27, 1998) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born May 9, 1927, in Hillsboro
to John and Matilda (Schroeder) Willems. She married Everett M.
Saunders on Aug. 3, 1946, in San Francisco. He survives of Newton.
She was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Newton. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. She
moved from San Francisco to Newton in 1973.
Other survivors include one son, David
Saunders of San Bernardino, Calif.; and two grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Willems and Marlin Willems.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alden Dick
from First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood
Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
the First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
