Mrs. Pearl Gibbens
Mrs. Pearl V. Gibbons, 50, died early Sunday of an apparent heart attack at her home, 801 S. Kansas Ave.
Born Nov. 9, 1907 in Chandler, Okla., she had lived in Newton for 35 years. She was employed as a cook at the Village Cafe.
Mrs. Gibbens was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, Philip W.; five sons, William E., Ralph E., and David W., of Newton, Philip W. Jr., of Parkville, MO. and James E., of Valley Center; two daughters, Mrs. R. C. (Ruth) Robbins and Mrs. R. L. (Naomi) Baker of Newton; her mother, Mrs. Marie Martin of Bellingham, Wash., two brothers, Dale Leech of Everett, Wash., and John E Leech of Bellingham, Wash., and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Clare E. Rose will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Draper's Funeral prior to the services".
