Lillie A Gibbens
Lillie A Gibbens, 74, 609 S.E. Fourth, died Thursday (July 20, 2000) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 26, 1926 in Capemay, N.J. to George and Lillie Adger (McC(l)ain) Radar. She married Bill Gibbens March 23, 1946 in Philadelphia. He preceded her in death June 18, 1996.
She worked for Santa Fe Laundry for 17 years, retiring in 1968.
She also worked as a nurse's aide at Friendly Acres Retirement Home in Newton and volunteered there. She was a member of World Wide Church of God in Wichita.
Along with her husband and parents, she also was preceded in death by a brother, George Radar.
Suvivors include: a son, Donald Gibbens of Newton; a daughter, Dorothy Bryant of Goddard; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held today.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of Peterson Funeral Home.
