Patricia E. (Tolbert) Coleman, 41, 423
E. Eighth, homemaker, died Sunday (June 21, 1998) at her home in
Newton.
She was born May 11, 1957, in Newton to
Herbert T. Tolbert and Anita L. (Townsend) Tolbert. Her mother
survives of Wichita. She married Keith Coleman on Dec. 31, 1995, in
Newton. He survives of Newton.
She was a 1975 graduate of Newton High
School. She attended Bethel College, Wisconsin University and
University of Kansas. She was 1976 Miss Harvey County Queen, a
candidate for Miss Black Teenage Kansas runnerup for two years and
Miss Kansas Pageant 1976 in Pratt, where she received the Miss
Congeniality award.
Other survivors include: one daughter,
Monique S. Starr of Wichita; one son, R. DantÄ Starr of Newton; five
brothers, Michael T. Tolbert, Herbert T. (Ted) Tolbert II and Vernon
E. Tolbert, all of Wichita and Leslie L. Tolbert and Raymond S.
Tolbert, both of Newton; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Townsend of Newton; aunt, Teresa Foster of Newton; and many aunts,
uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father,
Herbert T. Tolbert.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Leonard F. Gray
from Second Missionary Baptist Church in Newton and Shirley Heermance
from Bethel AME in Hutchinson. Burial will be in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today
and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with
the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
