Roger L. Graves

HESSTON - Roger L. Graves, 14, a student of Hesston and formerly Newton schools, died Wednesday (July 15, 1998) in rural Newton.

He was born February 18, 1984, in Wichita, to Ed and Carolyn A. (Kirchner) Graves. They both survive of Hesston.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Newton, where he was active in the church youth group. He was a member of the Newton Warriors football team. He enjoyed fishing and being with friends. His favorite pastimes included football, weight lifting, wrestling and riding motorcycles.

Other survivors include: one brother, Mike Graves of the home; maternal grandmother, Alta Fuller of Collinsville, Okla.; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Carolyn Schwarz and Rev. MyCherie Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorials have been established with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in care of the funeral home.
