Alpha B. Widener
Alpha B. Widener, 84, 712 Magnolia,
homemaker, died Tuesday (July 21, 1998) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Niwot,
Colo., to Winfred E. and Julia E. (Day) Berry. She married Harry D.
Widener at Fort Morgan, Colo. He preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1980.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses in Newton. She was a graduate of Weldona High
School in Weldona, Colo. She and her husband moved to Kansas in 1975
to live closer to their children. They resided in Peabody until her
husband's death in 1980. She moved to Newton for two years, then to
Albuquerque, N.M., in 1983 and back to Newton in 1995.
Survivors include: two daughters, Peggy
A. Shirley of Newton and Joy E. Williams of Pueblo, Colo.; one
brother, Evan Berry of Sutart, Iowa; one sister, Jewell Hatcher of
San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Brother Joe
Magathan officiating. Burial will be in the Golden Cemetery in
Golden, Colo.
Memorials have been established with
the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses World Wide Work in care of
Petersen Funeral Home.
